MS says that MM2 can be played over a LAN, but what are
the details for setting it up correctly? I have a two-
computer LAN at home that has the TCP/IP protocol set up
on it and MM2 installed on one of the computers; but I
can't get cops and robbers to come up correctly.
Both computers can "see" each other on the LAN but there
may be some additional settings in the game that are
needed.
Can someone help me out with the missing info? Thanks.

Hi Don,

Start the game in both computers.
On one computer go into the multiplayer menu and Host a LAN game
On the other computer go into the multiplayer menu and Join a LAN game

The two games should then connect> the host sets up the details such as maps etc.
You can find more info in the readme file for the game, or in it's manual if you have one.

That's pretty much how it works generically for most games Don. Good luck! :-)
